Proclamation: Below you will find a sundry assortment of just souls, citizens, mayors and various riff-raff that populate the fair, pious and populous village of Bakersville, "The Pioneer Village". We are dedicated to preserving the best in our agricultural, horticultural, heritcultural and all the other cultures that make our city a real 24-carrot Ozark town.

Jere and Emilee Gettle
Jere and Emilee Gettle
The Gettles are the proprietors of Bakersville. Jere opened Bakersville's first store in 1998, Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company, which now sends out 95,000 catalogs and has customers in over 30 countries. The idea for starting Bakersville came from the festivals that the company had been hosting since 2000. Jere and Emilee married in August 2006 in Mexico, MO. Both have a keen interest in history, travel and natural health and gardening. Jere is sometimes accused of slinging rotten tomatoes at big chemical corporations and their CEOs, but he is truly a benign soul that works to bring justice to this vegetable planet. Emilee enjoys various and sundry craft projects, and this year opened an herb shop called London Apothecary, selling herbs of all scents, smells and fragrances. The couple can often be found floating down many of the area's Ozark streams.

Andrew Kaiser
Andrew Kaiser
The Technocrat of Bakersville, he keeps this website up and running (sometimes). He also manages the seed store, festivals and other projects. Kaiser is known for his legendary international travel adventures to such countries as Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Mexico, Guatemala and Arkansas. He is son of the High Sheriff and sometimes works with the posse to root out 'possums in the garden, using his sensitive nose and native instincts.

Mike Nocks
Mike Nocks
Mr. Nocks is the Keeper of the Mercantile, our town's talented and auspicious auctioneer known for driving up prices with his classical pioneer auctioning skills and pure pioneering ingenuity. Mike and his notorious son Kevin have also built the London Apothecary, and the rock-solid Bakersville Jail.

Mayor Mizner
Mayor Mizner
Attempting to be a city boss and grabbing control of the city's central government can be a tiring, taxing and turbulent job that requires a man of the utmost and supreme fortitude. Fortitude, that is Mizner, a steel-fisted politician of the old school; a man who is known to rig polls and vote early and often. City planners shiver every time they must go before the big boss. Truly, a mayor by the people and for the people!
